Helen Grace A. Olivares, P.E. is a Water Utility Engineer and California Professional Mechanical Engineer with nearly 25 years of civil service experience at the nation's 2nd largest municipal water and power utility.
She is running for La Cañada Irrigation District Board of Directors — Division 4 because she believes LCID must be prepared for a changing water landscape—and she wants to bring her engineering expertise, leadership, innovation, and energy home to the community she loves and where she raises her family.
Why I’m Running for LCID - Div 4 Board Member
Our Water Future Is Changing.
La Cañada Should Be Ready.
California's water landscape is changing.
Water scarcity, evolving state policies and regulations, aging infrastructure, emergency preparedness, affordability, and changing customer expectations will require water districts to think differently and plan ahead.
Helen believes LCID has an opportunity to modernize, strengthen its operations, and prepare proactively for the challenges ahead.
She wants to bring nearly 25 years of water utility experience to that effort.
Her goal is not simply to maintain the status quo.
Her goal is to help build a safer, more resilient, more responsive, and more forward-looking water district.
Her Priorities on the La Cañada Irrigation District Board
Prepare for a More Water-Constrained California - Plan for Scarcity. Prepare for Change. Protect our Water Future.
Infrastructure & Resiliency - Invest Wisely Today to Protect Reliable Water Service Tomorrow
Affordability & Fiscal Responsibility - Responsible Stewardship of Ratepayer Dollars
Customer Service & Transparency - A Modern Water District Should be Easy to Work With
Emergency Readiness - Preparedness Isn’t Something You Build During an Emergency. You Build it Before One Happens
